Hodonín: Zoo and cultural heritage

Hodonín is a picturesque town located 50 km south-east of Brno on the river Morava. No matter whether you are a fun-loving, active person or a history lover, Hodonín has something for everyone. Zoo, spa, outdoor and indoor swimming pool, winter stadium, chateau, chapel, Jewish cemetery and much more. Visit the birthplace of T. G. Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia, and discover all its beauties.

Zoo

Hodonín Zoo is situated in the north-western part of the town. Spread over an area of 19 acres of flat forest land, the site promises a pleasant and comfortable walk suitable for visitors of all ages, including the disabled.
The visitors can currently see 170 different species, the total of 600 animals. To make the visit more enjoyable for our little ones, the grounds have been expanded with several playgrounds and a popular children’s corner with small domestic animals available for petting. Two refreshment stands with tables are available for the visitors’ convenience, one of them on the flat roof over the felines pavilion. Finally, a souvenir shop is available right at the Zoo entrance.

Spa

If you get tired after the walk around Zoo or sightseeing, Hodonín Spa is the right place to relax. The spa is well-known for its iodobromine briny water, a natural healing source recognized among Europe´s highest quality of iodine waters. Its high concentration of iodine and low mineralization makes is very similar to the Dead Sea water. It has unique medicinal, preventative and regenerative effects.

Indoor and outdoor swimming pool

Swimming facilities are open all the year round. The outdoor swimming pools is surrounded by almost 250 acre grounds which make it one of the largest and up-to-date facilities in the Czech Republic. You can relax in a multi-purpose swimming pool, children´s water playground and relaxation pools with water rapids, spouters, massage jets, slides and more attractions.
The indoor swimming pool used in winter has two pools. One is designed for swimmers, the other namely for children. Those who are cold can use Finnish and steam saunas and massages, a snack-bar is there for the hungry ones.
